I have been thinking about the seemingly invisible work of so many species, species like the Guadalupe Orb. It's one of the many threatened freshwater mussels that clean the Earth's water ways. The thing is, it's not invisible work- our waters would be dirtier, our biodiversity challenged without them.⁠⁠

According to @USFWSSouthwest, the Guadalupe Orb is endemic only to the Guadalupe River basin in Texas. I have listed the other mussels in that basin below- if you have ever experienced Guadalupe water recreation- this is the dream team that played a quiet part in your good times. ⁠⁠
